CODIX is a Sponsor of the first Lease Conference Dubai “Developments for the Middle East and Africa”, scheduled for the 13th – 14th of October 2021. The international event will be hybrid – it will take place both virtually and in person at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Dubai, UAE. The conference seeks to bring applicable knowledge and expertise to the players in the leasing business in the Middle East and Africa and set the ground for a strong integration and networking amongst lessors, suppliers, investors and bankers, service providers and regulatory authorities across the region.

Amina Chakchouk, COO Leasing of CODIX, is one of the speakers on the first day of the conference and will make a presentation on the “Priorities in digitalization resulting from lessons learnt from COVID-19”.

This year the equipment, auto and fleet leasing industry face a wide range of challenges, including the financial impact of the epidemic crisis that emerged in the last quarter of 2019, changing regulations, accounting rules, new mobility trends and the impact of digitalization. The First Lease Conference in UAE will go under the theme: “Be prepared for tomorrow”.

The agenda of the event includes tailored sessions for delegates from the different verticals of the business, including, construction and mining equipment, information technology assets (hardware, software and services), auto finance and car leasing, aircraft, ships and rail, and medical equipment. There is little data available on the leasing market in the Middle East and Africa, as leasing companies do not publish their new business volumes, portfolio size or contract numbers. Moreover, it is too early to predict what will be the impact of the global pandemic which puts a damper on business growth, expansion and equipment acquisition plans worldwide.
